Knights work provokes to me the excitement of making something new and being creative. The bright, stark colours he uses makes the viewer pay attention to the photo and startles the viewer into taking in the detail of the image. In post production the range of tones in the photos brings the concept of life into the photos, that everything seems in HD, being sharper. Also the ideas of the concepts makes me think about what he’s trying to say through the photos, the image ‘Arena homme Plus’ is a very striking image to show this, to he he is conveying the thoughts of males being strong, but in their minds they think they are stronger than they actually are using the multiple arms and the bulls horns to show the strength.

Richard Avedon

Using black and white photography Avedon creates personal photos with the model, capturing their emotions through the images, using key aspects of their body language, eyes and facial expressions, the models do not look like meat in a frame, but humans with a personality. The high sharpen he uses in the images makes them stand out and take you a back being able to see this emotion being pulled from the photos. On one of the websites I read ‘Richard Avedon didn’t photograph dance, he photographed movement…’ This reins very true, as he captures the moment at the correct time to get the full effect and emotions of the subject.
